Chinese Non-government Medical Institutions Association (CNMIA), recognized by the State Council, is a national, industry-oriented, non-profit, independent legal social organization. It's formed by voluntary associations of non-public medical institutions legally licensed, relevant enterprises, units, social organizations, and individuals. This association serves as the leading body for the industry of social practice in China, dedicated to the provision of services and management in this sector.
The party leadership office is under the Central and State Affairs Commission, with registration managed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and its operational oversight provided by the National Health Commission.
Since its inception, CNMIA has been guided by the needs of the industry, aiming to unite societal forces to contribute to a healthier China. Its foundational philosophy is grounded in market-driven resource allocation theories. The organization's strategic approach involves building and developing through four key chains: the industry chain, academic chain, talent chain, and financial chain. Its mission is to serve as the cornerstone of operations, fostering self-regulation, advocating for rights protection, and providing guidance.
Historically, it has undertaken the mission to develop and standardize non-public medical institutions. It leverages the National Specialty Medical Cooperation Medical Association Cloud Platform to facilitate interactions between government and non-public medical institutions.
CNMIA is equipped with nine departments including Office, Membership Organization Department, Academic Training Department, Investment and Financing Services Department, Talent Technical Service Department, Legal Affairs Department, International Medical Tourism Department, Medical Quality Evaluation Center, and Information Center. It boasts 56 nationwide branches, with over 540,000 member institutions and 24,000 hospitals across 230 provincial, sub-provincial, and municipal associations nationwide. This makes it one of the largest and most influential medical institution associations in China and globally.
