Founded in 1951 in Sweden, Tetra Pak entered the Chinese market in 1979. Adhering to the philosophy of "growing with Chinese customers," Tetra Pak is committed to "making food safe and available, everywhere." By introducing advanced technology, equipment, and comprehensive value-added services to China, Tetra Pak plays a crucial role in the country's liquid food industry.
Tetra Pak pioneered the innovative tetrahedron-shaped carton for milk packaging in 1951, setting a high standard for hygiene and material efficiency. Over the years, it evolved into a major supplier of packaging systems for various liquid foods. In 1991, it expanded into liquid food processing equipment, plant engineering, and cheese manufacturing equipment. Today, Tetra Pak offers integrated solutions globally in food processing, packaging, distribution, and value-added services like technical consultation, training, and market development.
With 38 sales companies worldwide, Tetra Pak operates 42 packaging material plants and 9 machine assembly facilities. The company employs 22,896 people and reported net sales of EUR 10.360 billion in 2011. Its products are sold in over 170 countries. In 2011, Tetra Pak delivered 167 billion packages containing 75.6 billion liters of liquid food globally.

Employing over 2,100 people, Tetra Pak operates offices in major cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong. It has four world-class packaging plants in Beijing, Kunshan, Foshan, and Hohhot, with a total annual capacity of 60 billion packages by 2012. Additionally, it established a Technology Center & Product Development Center in Shanghai and a global-leading Design Conversion Center in Beijing.
