2020年10月，作为中铁水利水电规划设计集团安徽市场总部的安徽华水工程设计有限公司，在合肥正式挂牌成立。
中铁水利水电规划设计集团的前身是江西省水利规划设计研究院，它是全国老牌水利大省的水利省级院之一。2020年9月，该集团正式成为中铁股份有限公司下属的水利行业勘察设计单位，为正厅级建制。
