Production Manager, Performance Outerwear

1. Monitor supplier factories' daily production activities to ensure adherence to schedules, specifications, and capacity plans.

2. Maintain relationship with supplier factory and brand client. Work closely with factory managers and customer to align production targets, timelines, and quality expectations.

3. Participate in the pre-production meetings and support Quality Assurance, Technical Development and related functions towards the right direction for ways of working.

4. Oversee production functions through bulk production stage (including incoming materials, accessory application, as well as fabric quality) to ensure operational excellence.

5. Identify technical bottlenecks in suppliers' production line, work closely with Performance Outerwear Technical team to provide guidance and training to improve operational performance, and implement corrective actions to maintain and improve workflow efficiency.

6. Lead the QA/QC team to conduct inline and final inspections to uphold product standards, reduce rejection rate and rework.

7. Address quality deviations immediately, root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

8. Troubleshoot production problems relating to quality, technical problems as well as shipment schedule.

9. Source and evaluate new manufacturers for quality, cost and compliance matters. Onboard new manufacturers for client. Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful manufacturers.

10. Provide technical expertise or advice on fabric suitability. Policy, process and production improvement.

11. Upgrade and train manufacturer for technical, process and quality improvement.

Requirement:

1. Minimum 15 years of experience in the apparel industry, including 5 years at managerial role.

2. Intensive experience in outdoor active outerwear (such as skiing suits, wind/water proofing jacket, pants, etc.)

3. Familiar with the production life cycle management from sample development, material sourcing and procurement, bulk production until shipment.

4. Strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build relationships and trust with factories and foster a win-win situation.

5. Proven experience in incoming quality control (IQC) of fabrics, including inspection, testing, and compliance assessment against quality standards, is required.

6. Fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. this role is based in supplier's factories in Qianjiang, Hubei province, China as a focal point of contact to oversee the daily manufacturing operations at the key suppliers' factories to meet brand customers' requirements.
